R. J. Corman is a company that employs over 1,600 people around the country. These individuals include railroaders, office professionals, engineers, trainmasters, equipment operators and even more. Employee Spotlight features on the Mainline Online provide us an opportunity to celebrate and get to know some of our talented team members.
This week’s spotlight is Denver Shuman, who was the first mechanic hired by Mr. Corman when he began the company. Denver is an employee known by all, who works hard on a daily basis and will always be sure to greet you whenever he passes by. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank him for his over 38 years of service to R. J. Corman.
What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment while working at R. J. Corman?
“I think being able to stay at one company for almost four decades really goes without saying.”
What is your favorite memory of Rick Corman?
“My favorite memory is the adventure of skiing in the Alps.”
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
“When I’m not at work I spend my time working on my clock collection, several of them need fixing!”
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
“I think I would choose spaghetti.”
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
“I would like to be able to fly like an eagle.”
